WHEREAS, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office reports the highest number of inmate deaths in
jails and jails-related lawsuits in the region and suffers many other recent issues including: the
US Department of Justice - Civil Rights Division confirmed the Sheriff’s failure to provide
adequate custodial mental health services; the Office recently revealed to the public that 47
deputy sheriffs were employed for years while failing to meet the required mental competency; and ongoing lack of transparency in the Sheriff’’s budget and operations;

WHEREAS, Over the past two decades, over one million Californians have invested in rooftop solar to combat climate change, lower energy bills, and invest in local communities; and

WHEREAS the ongoing uncertainty and violence in Afghanistan and the takeover of the Afghan government by the Taliban has created a humanitarian crisis

Be it further resolved, that the California Democratic Party urge the Representatives and Senators from California to support a U.S. return to the U.S.-Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA).

Be It Resolved, that The Tri-Valley Democrats opposes the recall of Governor Gavin Newsom.

We are calling on Governor Gavin Newsom to fulfill his promise to fight for single-payer healthcare in California.
