TVDEMS Endorse Eric Swalwell for Governor

Tri-Valley Democratic Club Endorses Eric Swalwell for Governor of CA.
Tri-Valley Region, CA - March 20, 2026
The Tri-Valley Democratic Club is honored to announce its endorsement of Eric Swalwell for Governor of California. The endorsement vote was taken on March 16 and 17, 2026, with online ballots sent to club members.
On March 16, candidates including Katie Porter, Xavier Becerra, Tom Steyer, Eric Swalwell, and Betty Yee joined the Tri-Valley Democratic Club via Zoom to take questions and discuss their candidacies. Co-sponsoring organizations included Livermore Indivisible, Indivisible Tri-Valley, and the San Ramon Valley Democratic Club. Other participating organizations included the Castro Valley Democratic Club and Indivisible Tracy. A recording of the meeting is available on the Tri-Valley Democrats’ YouTube channel.
Per the Tri-Valley Democratic Club bylaws, a candidate must receive at least sixty (60) percent of total votes cast to receive the club’s endorsement.
The Tri-Valley Democratic Club is Congressman Swalwell's home club. A member of the club since he was a teenager, Swalwell was previously a member of the club’s board and chaired the Tri-Valley United Democratic Campaign, the Alameda County Democratic Party’s Tri-Valley Political Action Committee. The Tri-Valley Democrats were also the first club in the country to endorse Swalwell during his first campaign for Congress in 2012 and his campaign for President in 2020.
Ellis Goldberg, Secretary and Political Director of the Tri-Valley Democrats, commented that “leadership is the outstanding quality that differentiates Eric. He convinces others to follow his lead, and he can lead the legislature and California. He gets stuff done.”
Club member Beverley Weiss added that “he will not stand down, and he is not frightened to fight. We need leaders like this to represent us in these very dangerous times … he is a fighter.”
Club member Dr. Jeff Colvin also shared: "I voted for Eric Swalwell because he is the only candidate who recognizes the necessity of countering the threat posed to all of us here in California by Trump's declaration of war against California, and he is the one best equipped to do so."
Club member and Livermore City Councilmember Evan Branning noted: "Eric has a long history of standing up for our district and for our communities. He will bring that compassion and leadership to the Governor's office, and I am glad to support him.”
